Privacy Notice

Thank you for your interest in our online shop. The protection of your privacy is very important to us. In the following, we provide you with detailed information about how we use your data.

1. Access data and hosting

You can visit our websites without providing any personal information. Every time you visit a website, the web server automatically stores only a so-called server log file which contains for example the name of the requested file, your IP address, data and time of visit, data volume transferred and the requesting provider (access data) and documents the access.

This access data is analysed solely for the purpose of ensuring the smooth operation of the website and improving our offering. This helps to protect our, in the balancing of various interests, overriding legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter f GDPR  in ensuring our offering is presented correctly. All access data will be deleted at the latest seven days after you have visited our website.

Hosting services provided by a third-party provider

A third-party provider provides us with hosting and website presentation services. This helps to protect our, in the balancing of various interests, overriding legitimate interest in ensuring our offering is presented correctly. All data which is collected as described below during use of this website or in forms designed for this purpose in the online shop will be processed on its servers. Data is only processed on other servers within the limits explained here.

This service provider is based in a country in the European Union or the European Economic Area.

2. Data collection and use for contract processing and when opening a customer account

We collect personal data if you disclose this to us voluntarily when you place your order, contact us (e.g. by contact form or e-mail) or open a customer account. Mandatory fields are marked as such, because in these cases we need the data for contract processing purposes, to respond to your contact or open the customer account and you cannot complete the order or account-opening process or send the contact without providing this information. It can be seen on the respective input forms what data is collected. We use the data provided by you for contract processing purposes and to respond to your enquiries pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter b GDPR. After the contract has been processed completely or your customer account has been deleted, your data will be restricted for further processing and cancelled after the retention periods required by tax law and commercial law have expired, unless you have expressly given your consent to further use of your data or we reserve the right to use of the data beyond this which is permitted by law and which we inform you of in this policy. Your customer account can be cancelled at any time either by sending a message to the contact details specified below or by a function provided for this purpose in the customer account.

3. Passing on of data

For the contract fulfilment purposes pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter b GDPR, your data will be passed on to the shipping company charged with the delivery, if this is necessary for the delivery of the goods ordered. Depending on the payment service provider you select in the order process, we pass on the payment data collected for the purpose of processing payments to the bank charged with the payment and if applicable to the payment service providers charged by us or to the selected payment service. In some cases the selected payment service providers also collect this data themselves, if you open an account with them. In this case you have to register in the order process with the payment service provider using your access data. Here the privacy policy of the respective payment service provider will apply.

Passing on of data to shipping providers

If you have given us your express consent to do so when or after placing your order, we will pass on your e-mail address and telephone number pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter a GDPR to the selected shipping provider so that it can contact you before delivery for the purpose of notifying you of or arranging the delivery.

The consent can be revoked at any time by a sending message to the contact details specified below or directly to the shipping provider at the contact address listed below. After the consent has been revoked, we will delete your data provided for this purpose, unless you have given your express consent to the further use of your data or we reserve the right to use of the data beyond this which is permitted by law and which we inform you of in this policy.

4. E-mail newsletter and postal advertising

E-mail advertising with registration for newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will use the data required for this purpose or provided by you separately in order to send our e-mail newsletter to you regularly subject to your consent pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter a GDPR.You subscribe to our newsletter in a so-called double opt-in process. This means that after subscribing you will receive an e-mail in which you will be asked to confirm your subscription. This confirmation is necessary in order to ensure that no one can subscribe using someone else’s e-mail address. The subscriptions to the newsletter are logged so that proof can be provided of the subscription process in accordance with legal requirements. This involves the storage of the time of subscription and confirmation as well as the IP address. Amendments to your data stored at the shipping provider are also logged. The subscription process is logged on the basis of our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter f GDPR. Our interest focuses on the use of a user-friendly and secure newsletter system which serves our business interests, meets the expectations of users and also allows us to provide proof of consent.

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time either by sending a message to the contact details specified below or via a link provided for this purpose in the newsletter. After you unsubscribe, we will delete your e-mail address, unless you have given your express consent to the further use of your data or we reserve the right to use of the data beyond this which is permitted by law and which we inform you of in this policy.

Passing on of data / MailChimp

We use the MailChimp service to send newsletters. The provider is the Rocket Science Group LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.

MailChimp is a service with which among other things the sending of newsletters can be organised and analysed. If you input data for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter (e.g. e-mail address), this will be stored on MailChimp’s servers in the USA.

MailChimp has EU-US Privacy Shield certification. The Privacy Shield is an agreement between the European Union (EU) and the USA which should ensure that European data protection standards are met in the USA.

With the help of MailChimp, we can analyse our newsletter campaigns. When you open an e-mail sent by MailChimp, a file contained in the e-mail (so-called web beacon) connects to MailChimp’s servers in the USA. It can therefore be established whether a newsletter message has been opened and what links if any have been clicked on. Technical information is also recorded (e.g. time of visit, IP address, browser type and operating system). This information cannot be assigned to the respective newsletter recipient. It is used solely for the statistical analysis of newsletter campaigns. The results of these analyses can be used so that future newsletters are better adapted to the interests of recipients.

If you do not want any analysis by MailChimp, you have to unsubscribe from the newsletter. We provide you with a link for this purpose in every newsletter message. You can also unsubscribe from the newsletter directly on the website.

The processing of the data takes place on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter a GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter. The legality of the data processing that has already taken place will not be affected by the revocation.

The data you have provided us for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us until your name is removed from the list for the newsletter and deleted from our servers and MailChimp’s servers. Data which is stored by us for other purposes (e.g. e-mail addresses for the members area) will not be affected by this.

For further information, please see MailChimp’s data protection terms at: https://mailchimp.com/legal/terms/.

Postal advertising and your right to object

We also reserve the right to use your first name, your surname and your postal address for our own advertising purposes, e.g. to send interesting offers and information about our products by letter. This helps to protect our, in the balancing of various interests, overriding legitimate interest in ensuring our customers receive advertising material pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter f GDPR.

5. Use of data in payment processing

Credit check

If we provide our service in advance of payment, e.g. purchase on account or direct debit, an identity and credit check needs to be obtained from service providers which specialise in this (credit agencies) pursuant to Art. 22 Para. 2 Letter a GDPR. For this purpose, we send your personal data that is needed for a credit check to the following company/companies:

SCHUFA Holding AG
Kormoranweg 5
65201 Wiesbaden
Germany

Creditreform Boniversum GmbH
Hellersbergstraße 11
41460 Neuss
Germany

Appropriate measures are taken into account here to protect your rights, freedoms and legitimate interests. You can make your views known and challenge the decision by contacting the contact details specified below. After the contract has been processed completely, your data will be cancelled, unless you have expressly given your consent to further use of your data or we reserve the right to use of the data beyond this which is permitted by law and which we inform you of in this policy.

6. Cookies and web analysis

In order to make our website attractive to visitors and enable the use of certain functions, to display suitable products or for market research, we use so-called cookies on various websites. This helps to protect our, in the balancing of various interests, overriding legitimate interest in ensuring our offering is presented optimally pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter f GDPR. You can set your browser so that you are informed whenever cookies are placed and decide individually whether to accept them, or you can accept cookies in certain cases or generally exclude cookies. Every browser differs in the way it manages cookie settings. This is described in the help menu of every browser, which explains to you how you can change your cookie settings. This helps to protect our, in the balancing of various interests, overriding legitimate interest in ensuring the optimal marketing of our website pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter f GDPR. The information automatically produced by the cookie on the visit to this website will be transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the USA. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA, where it will be shortened. The anonymised IP address transmitted by your browser while using Google Analytics will not be combined with other data held by Google.

Google will use this information to compile reports on website activity and to perform other services relating to the use of the website. This helps to protect our, in the balancing of various interests, overriding legitimate interest in ensuring the optimal marketing of our website. Google may forward this information to third parties insofar as this is allowed by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google.
Google Double Click is provided by Google LLC. (www.google.de).
Google LLC’s head office is in the USA and is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield. A current certificate can be viewed here. If you do not accept cookies, the functionality of our website may be limited.

Use of Google (Universal) Analytics for web analysis

For web analysis purposes, this website uses Google (Universal) Analytics, a web analysis serviced provided by Google LLC (www.google.de). This helps to protect our, in the balancing of various interests, overriding legitimate interest in ensuring our offering is presented optimally pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter f GDPR. Google (Universal) Analytics uses methods which enable an analysis of the use of the website, for example cookies. The information automatically collected on your use of this website will be transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the USA. Due to the activation of IP anonymisation on this website, your IP address will be shortened before being transmitted within member states of the European Union or in other states signed up to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA, where it will be shortened. The anonymised IP address transmitted by your browser while using Google Analytics will not be combined with other data held by Google. After purpose and end of the use of Google Analytics by us, the data collected in this context will be deleted.

Google LLC’s head office is in the USA and is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield. A current certificate can be viewed here. On the basis of this agreement between the USA and the European Commission, the latter has determined that a company certified under the Privacy Shield provides an adequate level of data protection.

You can also prevent data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the Website (including your IP address) being collected and processed by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

7. Advertising via marketing networks

Google AdWords Remarketing

Google Adwords promotes this site on Google's search results and on third-party websites. For this purpose, when visiting our website, the so-called Remarketing cookie is placed by Google, which automatically enables interest-based advertising using a pseudonymous CookieID and based on the pages you visit. This helps to protect our, in the balancing of various interests, overriding legitimate interest in ensuring the optimal marketing of our website pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter f GDPR. After purpose and end of the use of Google AdWords Remarketing by us, the data collected in this context will be deleted.

Additional data processing will only take place if you have agreed with Google that your web and app browsing history will be linked to your Google Account by Google and information from your Google Account will be used to personalise the ads you see on the web. In this case, if you are logged into Google when you visit the page of our website, Google will use your data together with Google Analytics data to create and define target group lists for cross-device remarketing. To do this, Google will temporarily link your personal information with Google Analytics data to create target groups.

Google AdWords Remarketing is provided by Google LLC (www.google.de). Google LLC’s head office is in the USA and is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield. A current certificate can be viewed here. On the basis of this agreement between the USA and the European Commission, the latter has determined that a company certified under the Privacy Shield provides an adequate level of data protection.

You can deactivate the Remarketing cookie via this link. You can also find out more from the Digital Advertising Alliance about the placement of cookies and adjust the settings.

Criteo Retargeting

This website also uses the Criteo service of Criteo SA, Rue Blanche, 75009 Paris, France (http://www.criteo.com/de). With the help of this service, users who have already visited our website once and were interested in our offers are offered specific advertisements on this website and on websites which also use the Criteo service. This helps to protect our, in the balancing of various interests, overriding legitimate interest in ensuring the optimal marketing of our website pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter f GDPR. These ads are inserted on the basis of information about the visits to the respective websites, which is stored in cookies, among other things, on the user’s computer. These text files are selected in subsequent visits to the website for specific product recommendations. For this purpose, a randomly generated identification number is stored in the cookies. Neither this number nor the information on your visits to the websites can be assigned to you personally. Under no circumstances will this data be used to identify you personally as a visitor to our websites.
You can prevent this information from being stored and used by the Criteo service by clicking the following link (http://www.criteo.com/de/datenschutzrichtlinie) and by setting the control there for “Opt-out” to “ON”. By selecting “ON”, a new cookie (Opt-out cookie) is placed in your browser. This cookie signals to the Criteo service that Criteo is no longer allowed to collect and process data about your usage behaviour. You can reactivate this function by setting the control to “OFF”. Please note that this adjustment has to be made for every browser used by you. If all of the cookies in your browser are deleted, the Opt-out cookie will be deleted as well.

Facebook remarketing / retargeting

Facebook Pixel, custom audiences and Facebook conversion

Within our online offering, on the basis of our legitimate interests in the analysis, optimisation and economic operation of our online offering pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter f GDPR and for these purposes the so-called “Facebook Pixel” of the social network Facebook, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA, or if you are based in the EU, Facebook Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland ("Facebook"), is used. Facebook is certified under the Privacy Shield agreement and as a result offers a guarantee that European data protection law will be complied with (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000GnywAAC&status=Active). With the help of the Facebook Pixel, Facebook is on the one hand able to determine the visitors to our online offering as a target group for the presentation of advertisements (so-called "Facebook ads"). Accordingly, we use the Facebook Pixel to display the Facebook ads placed by us only to those Facebook users who have shown an interest in our online offering or have certain features (e.g. interest in certain topics or products, which is determined by the websites visited), which we transmit to Facebook (so-called “custom audiences”) With the help of the Facebook Pixel, we want to ensure that our Facebook ads correspond with the potential interest of users and are not a nuisance. With the help of the Facebook Pixel we can also understand the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes by seeing if users, after clicking on a Facebook ad, were redirected to our website (so-called “conversion”). The processing of data by Facebook takes place within the framework of Facebook’s Data Usage Policy. General information on the display of Facebook ads can be found in Facebook's Data Policy: https://www.facebook.com/policy.php. Specific information and details about Facebook Pixel and how it works can be found in Facebook’s Help Centre: https://www.facebook.com/business/help/651294705016616. You can opt out from capture by Facebook Pixel and use of your data to display Facebook ads. In order to adjust the ad settings for the type of ads you are shown in Facebook, you can visit the page set up by Facebook and follow the tips on settings for usage-based advertising: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=ads. The settings are platform-independent, i.e. they are used for all devices, such as desktop computers and mobile devices. You can also opt out from the use of cookies for reach measurement and advertising purposes via the opt-out page of the Network Advertising Initiative (http://optout.networkadvertising.org/), the US website (http://www.aboutads.info/choices) or the European website (http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices/).

Bid Management with intelliAd

This website uses the Bid Management web analysis service of intelliAd Media GmbH, Sendlinger Str. 7, 80331 Munich. In order to optimise this website for you, usage data is collected anonymously and stored aggregated and also used to create user profiles under a pseudonym. This helps to protect our, in the balancing of various interests, overriding legitimate interest in ensuring the optimal marketing of our website pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter f GDPR. When using intelliAd Tracking, cookies are stored locally. According to § 15 of the current version of the German Tele Media Act (Telemediengesetz, TMG), you have the right as the website user to opt out from the storage of data and the use of your visitor data (collected anonymously) to create a profile, including for the future. 8. Social media plugins

Use of social plugins of Facebook, Google, Twitter using the “2-click solution”.

On our website so-called social plugins (“plugins”) of social networks are used. In order to increase the protection of your data when you visit our website, plugins are integrated into the website using a so-called “2-click solution”. This integration ensures that when you visit a page on our website that contains such plugins, a link is not yet established with the respective social network’s servers. Your browser will only establish a direct link with the respective social network’s servers when you activate the plugins.
The content of the respective plugin will then be transmitted directly to your browser from the corresponding provider and integrated into the page. Through the integration of the plugins, the providers are informed that your browser has called up the relevant page of our website, even if you do not have a profile with the respective provider or are not logged in. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted by your browser directly to a server of the respective provider (possibly in the USA), where it is stored. If you interact with the plugins, for example if you click the “Like” or “Share” button, the relevant information is likewise transmitted directly to a server of the provider, where it is stored. The information is also published in the social network, where your contacts are displayed. This helps to protect our, in the balancing of various interests, overriding legitimate interest in ensuring the optimal marketing of our website pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter f GDPR.
You can find information on the purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of the data by the provider, contact details, your rights relating to this and privacy setting options in the provider's data privacy policies:
http://www.facebook.com/policy.php
https://twitter.com/privacy
https://developers.google.com/+/web/buttons-policy

Social video plugins

The content of third-party providers is integrated into this website. This content is provided by Google LLC (“provider”).
Youtube is operated by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”).

For Youtube videos which are integrated into our website, the extended data protection setting is activated. This means that no information on website visitors is collected and stored by Youtube, unless the visitors play the video.
You can find information on the purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of the data by the provider, your rights relating to this and privacy setting options in Google's data privacy policies http://www.google.com/intl/en/+/policy/+1button.html.
