Omegon 150mm Solar Filter
Review by Benzhington on 28.08.2017 19:21:19( 4 / 5 )
I bought this for my Omegon 150/750 EQ-3 so I could look at sunspots and do other solar-related things. Here's what I thought:
Image: Good, makes the sun a silvery colour.
Use: Annoying but worth it. The only ways to find it are to see a part of it in your telescope (EVERYTHING else is just black) or use a piece of paper behind it until the reflection of your telescope is circular.
Compatibility (personal): Poor, the product description states that: "if you have an Omegon Basic telescope, it fits directly onto the lens." which it doesn't for me despite my having a "basic Omegon telescope". It just kind of sat there, any jerks of the telescope would knock it off (you can use tape too).
Conclusion: I recommend the "Baader AstroSolar telescope solar filter, 150mm" (http://www.astroshop.eu/mounted-foil-filters/baader-astrosolar-telescope-solar-filter-150mm/p,46680) if you're willing to spend an extra €30 but... you can always tape it to your lens.
