Customer reviews

Scope is great - very light and portable, sharp

First I'd like to say that the AstroShop staff was very quick, competent and helpful when ordering, so I can openly recommend them.

The scope itself does live up to the name. It's the best non-ED scope I have look through. In good light the image is clear and bright even at x40 (in very cloudy weather, dawn or dusk the physics of 50mm objective will limit you of course) . Focusing is very smooth and the overall built is polished and solid.

I have tested some other 60mm and 80mm non-ED scopes and here the combination of weight and image quality is better. You do not get the 60x zoom, but in non-premium scopes the 40-60x range rarely gives more details.

Also in the field the fact that you'll carry 400gr vs 2kg does make a big difference. Finally, this scope can also use a lighter tripod which will again weigh probably half as much as a full-sized one.

All in all, unless you can afford a premium ED, flourite scope, so far this is the best I have found.
